Kansas City Chiefs Sign QB Patrick Mahomes to Record-Setting 10-Year, $450 Million Extension

The Kansas City Chiefs have rewarded the reigning Super Bowl MVP, Patrick Mahomes, handsomely for guiding the franchise to its first NFL title in 50 years, as the 24-year-old quarterback just signed a record-setting 10-year, $450 million contract extension that will keep him in Kansas City through the 2031 season. (Per ESPN, he has two years left on his existing deal.) Mahomes' 10-year deal is by far the richest in NFL history any way you slice it, topping the gross value of the five-year, $150 million contract Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan signed in 2019, as well as the per-season value of the four-year, $140 million contract Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson signed the same year.
