The Weeknd Hints at Next Album as "Blinding Lights" Breaks Billboard Hot 100 Record

"Blinding," indeed! Billboard reported this week that The Weeknd's smash-hit single "Blinding Lights" has just broken the record for the most weeks spent in the top five of its Hot 100 chart. The track's spent 28 weeks in the top five, besting Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" and The Chainsmokers' "Closer" featuring Halsey, which are tied at 27 weeks. Meanwhile, more new music from The Weeknd could come sooner than you think. Last week, he told Rolling Stone, "I might have another album ready to go by the time this quarantine is over." He also promised that whatever he does put out will be hugely different from his most recent LP,  After Hours. “I’m guilty of wanting to outdo my last album,” he admits.
