Rapper YG Arrested in 4 A.M. Raid on L.A. Home 2 Days Before Nipsey Tribute at Grammys

No TGIF for YG! According to TMZ, the rapper was arrested around 4 a.m. Friday when cops showed up at his San Fernando Valley home with both a search warrant and an arrest warrant, purportedly "related to a robbery case." He's since been transported to a local jail and booked while hiring Meek Mill's attorney, Joe Tacopina, to represent him. "This arrest is one that caught YG completely off guard because there is no truth to them. YG has no idea what the LAPD is talking about and we have not been provided with any details...We are learning about this case through the media," Tacopina tells the outlet. "YG has a performance scheduled at the Grammys Sunday where he will honor Nipsey Hussle...so the timing is suspect, to put it mildly." Fellow rapper The Game agreed with that assessment, tweeting Friday, "Funny how @YG gets arrested the weekend of the Grammys when he’s supposed to hit the stage in Nip’s honor." He added the hashtag, "#LAPDtheBiggestGangHere."
