White House Wanted ASAP Rocky to Publicly Thank Trump to Help Him With Black Voters

Did Donald Trump have ulterior motives when he tried to intervene in ASAP Rocky's assault trial in Sweden? Yahoo reports that members of Trump's administration wanted the rapper to issue a public thank-you to the president for his efforts to get Rocky released--except the rapper wound up ghosting The Donald. "The president’s allies who connected Rocky’s team with the White House hoped to facilitate a scene that would bolster Trump’s image among African-Americans," the outlet reports. "Instead, they say they were left angry when Rocky failed to thank Trump or those around him." ASAP's manager, John Ehmann, had even told some of Trump's handlers when they asked for a public thank-you, “If a serial killer gets Rocky out of jail, I would have no problem saying thank you to the serial killer.”
