Joe Biden Sworn in as 46th United States President
Former VP Joe Biden is now our country's 46th U.S. President.
Former Presidents Obama, Bush and Clinton were in attendance for the ceremony. Former President Jimmy Carter stayed home to guard himself against COVID-19. Former President Trump elected not to attend the inauguration, breaking a longstanding tradition where outgoing Presidents welcome incoming leaders to the White House.
In his speech, Biden spoke to those who didn't elect him as President asking them to hear him out, promising to be a "president for all Americans" and "fight as hard for those who did not support me as for those who did.
President Biden added "We must end this uncivil war that pits red against blue."
